SAfAIDS is one of the major stakeholders who took part in the Youth in Sports conference that took place on Wednesday the 17th of August at the Chinhoyi University of Technology.
LAGOS, 8 September 2016 (allAfrica) – Over 196,000 adolescents, representing 10 per cent of the global burden, are said to be living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria with a high estimated number of AIDS-related deaths, according to the United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund’s HIV Specialist, Dr. Victoria Isiramen.
NAIROBI, 15 September 2016 (allAfrica) – Adolescent girls and young women infected with HIV infections face stigma and discrimination when they seek reproductive health services such as family planning.
A group of adolescent girls and young women living with HIV under the auspices of a group called Sauti Skika say due to this unmet need for family planning, it makes them more vulnerable to unplanned pregnancies and at risk of reinfections.
HARARE, 10 September 2016 (Herald) – Government yesterday received eight ambulances, an audiometric machine and a digital X-ray machine from Global Fund to boost efforts in curbing the spread of Drug Resistant Tuberculosis (DRTB).
The ambulances, which cost $45 600 each, would be issued to all provinces, excluding Harare and Bulawayo. The target is to reduce TB — a disease mainly affecting the poor, children, the elderly and people living in crowded places.
