Children’s education enhanced

In September 2016 the programme entitled, ‘An integrated response to HIV and GBV through community resilience building in Bubi District’, availed funds amounting to $400.00 to Siganda Primary School which were used to initiate a tuck-shop. By the end of the term the tuck shop had raised $210.00 in profit. This profit was used to pay the school levies of fifteen children. These children were in dire need of assistance as their parents and guardians had arrears in levies and were giving up on their children’s education.

The future is looking bright for children being assisted as the tuck shop is doing well. Children are happy to be retained in school and pledge to do their best to improve their lives. Noxolo Mkwananzi a grade five girl who is a beneficiary hailed the programme for ensuring her continued education. The tuck shop project will assist the children until they transition to secondary school.
