Inciteful and inspiring deliberations at #ICASA2023 SAfAIDS & Hivos Regional Office Southern Africa Side-event on “Redefining the Feminist Agenda: Co-creating solutions on ending violence against women and girls in East and Southern Africa”. Key take-away messages were: Need to develop homegrown African solutions in creating real & sustainable change by “Letting Communities Lead”, Addressing gender dynamics and power relations within cultural settings; Documenting best practices & working models that can be replicated across the continent, and Forging multi-sectoral #Feminist investments in policies, education, service delivery, budgets and resource allocation. These are essential for advancement of women’s & girls’ rights; and ending violence against women and girls.
