Catalysing regional policy & practice transformation on access to safe abortion & prevention of early and unintended pregnancy (EUP)

SAfAIDS Regional, under TLiveSHARP Programme (supported by Sida – Styrelsen för Internationellt Utvecklingssamarbete continued its series of regional convenings to catalyse regional policy & practice transformation on access to safe abortion & prevention of early and unintended pregnancy (EUP) for adolescent girls & young women in #SADC region. Religious and Traditional Leaders, Government Leaders (Ministries of Health and Education) and Parliamentarians from 15 SADC Member States, shared:
✅Updates on progressive national policy and practice shifts they championed in the #SafeAbortion response for AGYW, since previous convenings
✅Key actions in implementing components of the “Regional Roadmap on Ending Unsafe Abortion & EUP for AGYW in SADC”, ensuring sustainable solutions take root, and
✅Reaffirmation of their commitment to amplify the Regional “My Choice, Our Choice Campaign to End Unsafe Abortion among AGYW”
The policy-makers’ and leaders’ re-commitmented as SRHR Defenders, in cognizance of rising backlash on human rights, equality, diversity and inclusion, to ensure AGYW have access to non-discriminatory SRH services and enjoy their #SRHR, #Dignity & #ReproductiveJustice
