“Sireletsa Seriti sa Ngoanana”: Responding to MHM needs in Lesotho

SAfAIDS Lesotho is supporting national efforts to reduce vulnerability of AGYW during COVID-19 response through the roll out of a Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) initiative themed “Sireletsa Seriti sa Ngoanana”. The initiative provides support to AGYW, through provision of Dignity Packs, and raising awareness on MHM, SRHR, WASH and COVID-19 .

In partnership with Webber Newdigate Attorneys, the first phase of the project distributed Dignity Packs including sanitary pads, toothbrushes and toothpaste, bath soap, washing powder and a face cloth; to vulnerable AGYW from Maja community in Roma. Community dialogues were hosted, engaging AGYW, their parents, teachers and local leadership, advocating access to comprehensive and affordable Menstrual Health Management commodities during the COVID-19 pandemic; and raising awareness to preserve SRHR of AGYW inand out-of-school, during the pandemic.
