The GESI to End HIV Initiative has a human rights-based approach (HRBA). It seeks to promote acceleration of localised HIV responses and contribute to national and regional targets, by addressing:
- Gender inequalities, toxic masculinities, and related socio-cultural and religious barriers; which increase risks and vulnerabilities of adolescent girls and young women (AGYW),
- Zero-tolerance for violence, stigma and discrimination against AGYW, and keeping girls in-school; through an evidence-based lens, and within a COVID-19 and climate crisis context.
