Inviting Applications: Board Member for SAfAIDS Eswatini Country Board

SAfAIDS as a regional NGO established in 1994, promotes sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) and resilience building; within a human rights-based response that contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); across the SADC region. SAfAIDS has a Regional Office, Country Offices and Country Focal Points across several countries in Southern Africa.

 

SAfAIDS Eswatini Country Office is registered as a national NGO in the Kingdom of Eswatini; and has a Country Board. We are inviting dynamic individuals, who are passionate about the development response to SRHR and GESI of diverse populations; to apply for Board membership on SAfAIDS Eswatini’s Country Board. Appointment of the new Board members will be as at 1st September 2022, and terms of service guided by the SAfAIDS Board Charter. This governance role is a voluntary and proactive one; and involves meeting on a quarterly basis to advance oversight actions on operations of SAfAIDS Eswatini Country Office; and accountability measures with the Country Representative. The Country Board comprises a complement of diverse experienced professionals from Eswatini, and reflects diversity of technical, business growth, legal and development practitioner expertise.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to advancing SAfAIDS Strategy 2021-2025; including its vision, mission and values
  • Oversee the alignment of Country Office practice with organisational Policy and Procedures
  • Provide technical input and guidance on organisational development, sustainability, risk mitigation, business growth, legal, financial and partnership engagement, and thematic development matters pertaining to SAfAIDS mandate and its Eswatini Country Office operations
  • Ensure compliance and adherence with legal and statutory requirements
  • Exercise due accountability and be responsible to relevant stakeholders

 

Requirements

  • Track record of upholding principles of integrity and high ethical standards; including recognition of diversity, justice and equality
  • Experience in other governance structures, positions of leadership or related statures, within Eswatini. Having this experience span in other countries of the SADC region, is an added advantage
  • Strategic and critical thinking skills, with business acumen relevant to current environmental contexts
  • Enthusiastic about SAfAIDS key areas of service; with an unbiased and innovative approach to development work
  • Availability for the role, dedication and commitment to the objectives and work of SAfAIDS
