Position: Monitoring, Evaluation and Research (MER) Assistant

SAfAIDS is a regional NGO working across the SADC region, as a trendsetter in promoting integrated effective and ethical development responses to SRHR, by enabling Gender Equality, Social Inclusion and Resilience for All. SAfAIDS is looking for an innovative, dynamic and experienced professional with a trail-blazing record to join the SAfAIDS Monitoring, Evaluation and Research (MER) team as an Assistant in the Zimbabwe Country Office. The MER Assistant is responsible for generation and reporting of high-quality programmes data through ensuring programme data is collated, analysed and reported in a timely manner; provision of M&E capacity building to SAfAIDS and partners’ staff; and overseeing that data collection and reporting tools and other M&E tools are being appropriately utilised by programmes and partners’ staff. This position will also ensure effective and efficient electronic data management and compilation of M&E reports to illustrate progress against set targets. She/he will be responsible for developing log frames, results frameworks, performance monitoring plans (PMPs), and designing Theories of Change (TOCs) and related M&E and research tools. The MER Assistant is based in the Zimbabwe Country Office, and their daily management will be done by the Country Coordinator. Technical management of the position will be done by the Senior Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, based at the Regional Office. The position will support the Zimbabwe MER activities. She/he may be required to supervise consultants, data capturers, assistants and Graduate Trainees. Their work is guided by SAfAIDS data management, data quality and related guidelines and protocols. The Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant will action delegated additional responsibility by the Country Coordinator; and the Zimbabwe Country Representative as necessary.
- A Degree in statistics, operations research, economics, Information Systems or any social sciences or other relevant field.
- Minimum of at least 2-3 years relevant experience in Monitoring and Evaluation.
- Strong qualitative and quantitative data analysis skills.
- Multiple assignment delivery, systematic planning, prioritization and coordination skills.
- Conversant with database development and data management, SPSS/STATA/SAS, Excel and Access.
- Experience in use of mobile phones for MER.
- Cooperative interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
