SAfAIDS Giving a voice to young people at the National Youth Games

CHINHOYI, 18 August 2016 - SAfAIDS is continuing with exhibitions, edutainment activities, one on one sessions and group interactions with young people at the National Youth games in Chinhoyi. SAfAIDS is one of the major stakeholders who took part in the Youth in Sports conference that took place on Wednesday the 17th of August at the Chinhoyi University of Technology.

This event was attended by all the students who are taking part in this year’s edition of the games and had an opportunity to make various theatrical presentation centred on the theme: “Empowering the athletes through career development and knowledge”. The minister of Sports Honourable Makhosini Hlongwane, Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Doctor Lazarus Dokora, Minister of Youth Honorable Patrick Zhuwawo graced the occasion. Honourable Hlongwane and other high level government official visited the SAfAIDS stand and were impressed with the wide array of materials on display.

The SAfAIDS team managed to provide edutainment through the SAfAIDS songs Kwete and Chadhaka which were played during the breaks in between the sessions. SAfAIDS was the only civil society organisation which was awarded a slot on the programme on the day and the team managed to market the organisation and performed edutainment jingles on stage, and these were largely well received by the in the audience in the auditorium, with the dignitaries singing along to the SAfAIDS songs.
