Call for Desk Review of Formative Study; Design and Develop Media Sensitization Tools
Deadline: 16 August 2017
As part of the Key Populations -Representation, Evidence and Advocacy for Change in Health (KP REACH) SAfAIDS seeks to hire the services of a Consultant to desk review a KP REACH formative study and generate content for the sensitisation and training of journalists, editors and media houses in southern Africa. The Consultant will use the content generated from the review to design and develop a service and tools for sensitisation of the media.
KP REACH seeks to work with journalists and editors in the SADC region aiming to reduce negative messaging, perceptions and stories that fuel systemic stigma, discrimination and violence directed at key populations. The journalists and editors will thus play a leading role in writing and disseminating messages that aim at shifting attitudes, beliefs and practices for the reduction in stigma and discrimination as a barrier to HIV prevention, testing and treatment services for key populations at country and regional level.
- Conduct a desk review of the formative study on regional attitudes, beliefs and perceptions about KPs, and formulate baseline content based on the review for sensitization of the media (journalists and editors). The study document is currently 69 pages.
- Develop a promotional tool/flyer [electronic (pod cast) and hard copy (leaflet)] to showcase the sensitisation service with journalists and editors and advertise this service.
- Develop a sensitisation tool for training of journalists and editors; i.e. a set of PowerPoint tools for orientation and sensitisation of the media
- Develop set of tools and documents based on KP REACH and other existing good practice communication tools (Consultant to adapt, re-design and finalise existing key populations manual to include sex workers) by 30 September
